THE PUNJAB REGULARIZATION OF SERVICE (REPEAL) BILL 2025

Bill
to repeal the Punjab
Regularization of Service Act 2018.
It is necessary to repeal the Punjab Regularization of Service Act 2018 (XV of 2018) for the purposes hereinafter appearing.
It is hereby enacted by Provincial Assembly
of the Punjab as follows:
1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be cited as the Punjab Regularization of Service (Repeal)
Act 2025.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Repeal and saving.- (1) The Punjab Regularization of Service Act 2018 (XV
of 2018) is hereby repealed.
(2) Notwithstanding the repeal of the Punjab Regularization
of Service Act 2018 (XV of 2018) under sub-section (1), anything done or action
taken under any provision of the repealed Act, shall continue to have effect as
if the said Act has not been repealed.
3. Repeal.- The Punjab Regularization of Service (Repeal) Ordinance
2025 (VII
of 2025) is hereby repealed.
STATEMENT OF OBJECTS
AND REASONS
The Government of the Punjab intends
to shift the mode of appointment from Basic Pay Scale to Lump Sum Pay Package so
that the financial burden on Government exchequer could be reduced which is borne
by the Government in the form of pension etc. Hence this Bill.
